As I get older and start to realize about all the things I missed out on I start to contemplate actually taking part in some of these things. The other day I was fortunate enough to bare witness to a music video (which I posted just below this) from the Tomorrowland Music Festival and it got me wondering first and foremost how the hell I had never heard about it and secondly just how old is to old to visit this place. If you’re like me and have never heard about this, whether you like dance music or not, you should check out the video.
Visting the Tomorrowland Music Festival
Since it’s creation in 2005 Tomorrowland has exploded and continues to get bigger and better with each passing year. I always find it funny and amazing what the power of music can do to people. Having watched this video and not even finishing a quarter of it I already was convinced I had to go. Seeing some of the worlds biggest DJ’s and being surrounded by a couple hundred thousand people seems like a recipe for a good time doesn’t it? The problem by the looks it lies within actually trying to get your hand on tickets.

Clik here to view.Since launching in 2005 the success of the event has skyrocketed and while it wasn’t overly easy to get tickets to begin with it’s just that much harder now. To give you an idea of how much this event has grown, after two years in existence 2007 saw the Tomorrowland Music Festival grow to two days and in 2008 it surpassed having 100 DJ’s playing and for the first time surpassed 50,000 visitors.
The fifth edition of the event took place in 2009 and featured an “I Love 90s” theme featuring some of the biggest DJ’s from that era. It also continued to grow rapidly and surpassed 80,000 visitors. 2010 proved to be the year that essentially blew up Tomorrowland. With over 120,000 visitors in two days the event sold out days before the event took place and featured some of the biggest chart topping acts like David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia. Yet still i don’t think the organizers at Tomorrowland fully expected the success they would get the following year.
Just a few days after the official presale took place Tomorrowland 2011 sold out. Now spanned over three days and featuring over 180,000 visitors with acts like David Guetta, Nervo, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Tiësto, 2ManyDJ’s, Carl Cox, Paul van Dyk, Tensnake, Laidback Luke, Brodinski, De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig and dozens of others Tomorrowland was voted the best festival of its kind.

Because of the ever growing success of Tomorrowland and the fact that it takes place in Belgium the organizers decided to give the countries residents an exclusive chance with a presale of 80,000 of the 180,000 tickets on March 24th. In less then a day the 80,000 tickets were sold out and at moments there was two million people on the online waiting list. With only 100,000 tickets left the worldwide sale began on April 7th and within two hours all were sold out. With over 75 nationalities visiting the music festival it became the biggest international one yet.
Attending Tomorrowland 2013
I think it’s safe to say with ticket prices at $200 Euro’s the experience at the Tomorrowland Music Festival is well worth the price of admission. Sure you’ll have to pay for flights (if you’re like me and coming from Canada) but I’d say it would be a small cost for something that you’ll never forget. I often talk about attending events that will have a long lasting moment on my life, I think it’s safe to say this is one of them and if it’s possible I think it will be most definitely something Ill do my best to attend whether its Tomorrowland 2013, 2014, 2015…you catch my drift.
